Default DFX 7 with Winamp 5.1

i recently upgraded to Winamp 5.1 (via the Digit N0V 2005 CD). it refuses to start if i install the DFX (ver 7) plug-in but starts on un-installing DFX. (i get an error message for the DSP_DFX.dll file) my OS is Windows ME (could this be the problem ?)

an older version of DFX also doesnt work.

how do i fix this ? are there any similar issues with Winamp 5.1 ?

try this: dl latest version of DFX, uninstall the previous, empty the plugins directory an then install DFX, might help you.

I encountered the same problem in Windos 98 but as soon as i upgraded to Windows XP, Winamp ran with DFX without any hesitation.

Have u tried some older versions ??? Like 5.093??

thanks q3_abhi, i had suspected the same.

yup, winamp 5.09x used to work fine with winamp. i am now thinking of going back to that version so that DFX works.

thanks, everyone....
