This is my list
-> IrfanView and its plugins (freeimage viewer, I use it for quick resizing photos, batch image processing, batch renaming, conversion)
-> Photoshop6 or higher (i don't have to say why, my work depend on it)
-> EditPlus (best text editor i guess)
-> Ahead Nero (best CD/DVD writing software)
-> Advanced File Organizer (CD/hard disk cataloging tool, I use just to find files [10 times faster than WinXP searching feature])
-> WinAmp5 (just to listen music, MP9 is heavy)
-> WinZip 8.1 or 9 (very popular)

2. winamp + plugins ( can play real media and wma, others too heavy )
3. Video Lan Client ( can play ALL avi files even if you dont have codecs )
4. kazaalite ( cant live without it )
5. powermarks ( best soft for storing bookmarks)
6. WhereIsIt? ( keep track of your cd collection )
7. Firefox + plugins (firefox is quite nothing without its plugins)

i had a virtual cd emulator software...and it ws great ... never crashed...
and i think the best software would be......
Spybot , ad-aware, Bit tornado, acdsee 6, winrar, dbpower amp, zoom player, fraps, tweak xp pro, mirc , firefox, zoom player...
HMMM.. i have all this which i use frequently...so i guess its pretty good..

hey ! i used most of the above except system mechanic and few others it is good if u ppl plz post the website address 4m where i can download this goodies and how can i play .rm and all the extension files that i download from sites in winamp and/or in divx player plz do the need full

well my list of top 10 softwarez would be:
1.(Alcohol120%+Alcoholer+clonyxxl)---- the complete back up package,
just find out the protection and back up ur valuble data.
2.winamp 5.05 (so smooth!).
3.Opera (fastest browser!).
4.e-donkey(hard 2 b without it)
5.WinDVD platinum (the Big Daddy of media players).
6.AVG antivirus 6.0 (performs its job without pressurizing the system).
7.Adobe photoshop cs 8.0 (4 all those editing..).
8.WinRAR(compression soft).
9.Powerdesk 5.0 ( use this once and windows explorer will be history).
10. DAP 7.0 (4 managing my downloads)

come on !!!!!!!!! no antiviruses give us some good names.
i use AVG free edition.can u believe it cleaned viruses on my pc(Parite.a..or something) that pc cillin could not heal.

Actually he has listed 2 AVs .. SysMechpro contains Kaspersky and ZA has a little AV of its own too ..
