The best way is to keep them in separate primary partitions and use a boot manager. Dual booting is not a good option.

2nd one very easy.

1st one: copy you boot.ini file to a safe place. edit you current boot.ini with removing the windows xp tag [.../fastdetect]. shutdown ur machine and boot again with the 2000[prof] cd and install it in a diff partition. after the install edit your boot.ini with the proper direction to win XP

I have installed winxp in c:And were to install the win2000 in d?If so how to edit the boot.ini file .after installation of win2000.

then boot from xp cd
goto recovery console and type fixboot
and foxmbr
its the same as installin 98 after xp
