Default Internet Explorer Problem in Win XP SP2???

Hello friends!

I have a small problem. I am using Windows XP with SP2 installed. Everything was working fine before I installed SP2. After installing SP2, every time I try to open any webpage thats stored in my computer offline, I get a message just below the address bar saying

"To help protect your system, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options..."

To view the complete webpage, I have to manually activate "Allow blocked content". Now, what can I do to switch off this feature so that such warnings are not poped up again.

thats ur windows firewall at work. if u dont like it, disable it.
when u r online, rt click on ur connection icon in the system tray, rt side on bottom taskbar. and go to 'change firewall settings. or do it thru control panel.

but its best to keep it on. and it cannot be blocking all the webpgs, only those which it considers as having harmful activex/content.

I already have Zone Alarm firewall running in my computer and I dont want Windows Firewall to work at all. Moreover, the web pages I am trying to open are the ones that I know are safe. So can you please tell me how can I deactivate my Windows Firewall, Infact, is it possible to uninstall the Windows firewall completely...

I'd like to say that either use Internet Explorer 7 Beta1 or Netscape 7.2 ( not 8 )... they're better than Internet Explorer 6, that you're using.

It has nothing to do with the Windows Firewall... It is a different upgrade by SP2 called the information bar... To keep it from appearing, you have to change the security level for the website... Or change the default security level... Find info about it at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...2_infobar.mspx and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/843017

BTW, if you dont want Firewall, you can disable it by doing the following. Go to Run menu and type "services.msc". Scroll down the list and select Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing. Double click to bring up its options and select Disabled as Startup type... Not necessary to uninstall as it wont take up any memory after this...
