Default office in a mess

I m using office 2000 on win 2000 prof. Its giving two error messages.
1.For Word- "This document could not be registered.It will not be possible to create links from other documents to this document.

2.For Excel- " Cannot use OLE".

Then both the programmes shuts down.

Whats the reason?

Reinstall Office 2k and try getting Service packs both for office and 2000 Professional(sp4).
