question about backup in windows 7
Currently i'm on 32 bit windows.i want to change to 64 bit since i have 4gb ram.So i want to backup my files[its about 400 gb in a 500gb hard disk].This is my first time doing backup,so can i backup my files to HDD and restore later[dont have any spare H.D.Ds]how much time it will take to backup and restore??thanks

What are the partitions you made? Store the important files in a partition and format the current drive where Windows 7 is installed and put 64 bit OS there

^thanks.i made 4 partitions.in the backup menu it has an option to backup.can i backup them to my pendrive,will it work?or where should i put the back up?also how much time it will take to backup and restore[we have frequent powercuts]

Backup to local volumes other than C is possible.
Time depends on the size of your C drive.
