I was trying search on gnome site and got a message there are automated queries sent from my computer.

Hijack this pro log also attached. Using Avast Free + Online Armor Premium.

There was some unknown activity from AvastSvc.exe it keep downloading even with auto updates off

the file you are mentioning of avast is not only for updating , but also for scanning web address for potential threat. instalk wireshark to monitor the traffic.
