Well it works great for me try using FireFox as i am using the same and it worked for me on that

how do i replace my existing icons on XP with these please let me know i used the change icon option from the properties but i am unable to do that for few icons like the my computer and so on so plz help

the best would be to use softwares like
"Desktop Architect" ..it will easily change the icons you wanat to change

To change my Icons, I use Microangelo. Just rt click on the icon to be changed and click on the appearance and choose your icon and done

Try using Reshacker to change the icons.
Patch shell32.dll with the new ones.

Safest way to change Icons in XP is
1. Microangelo
2. Icon Packager
In icon packager you can make your own package with the downloaded icons. Can anyone tell us how to create?? 
Desktop architect
is for 98 only.

U can use Desktop Architect.
It works in Windows XP too.
I changed all Icons in my Xp to these gr8 Vista icons using this gr8 s/w "Desktop Architect".
U can find it in DIGIT CDs.

Install microangelo. Right click on any icon, select appearance, now mcroangelo will appear, select change and select your icon........apply.......ok. Close done
