Default Problem while after booting Win 7...

Hi,
I am facing a problem from a few days, whenever I boot my laptop up it boots fine. But after booting and showing the windows splash screen , it dosen't shows the login screen ,i.e. a blank window is shown. I can type the password (though it dosen't show up) and try to login and can hear the login sound I have to put my system in hibernate mode, and than when I start my system the login screen is visible. I don't know the cause of the problem, I tried to google for it but couldn't find any satisfactory answer.
Another thing(not related to the above problem) I use external keyboard and mouse with my laptop, sometimes it happens if I connect my keyboard and mouse to the laptop before it has started it boots up but it stays in the windows splash screen for ever, I have to restart the system again....

hope to find the solution for the problems, the first one is the real bugger.

Thankx.

Check for any error on HDD by running the chkdsk via Command Prompt. Make sure to run a repair option if possible with the Windows 7 DVD.

remove & reinstall latest Nvidia drivers. don't use outdated drivers that came with laptop. download the latest version from Nvidia site or other mirrors.

@dheerajpant: the last option will be contacting the DELL Customer Care.

Can you boot in safe mode and see if you still experience the problem or not?
Reboot the box and keep pressing f8 key....it will bring up the advanced boot up menu....choose safe mode.
Please post back the results of your findings.

If within warranty, better leave the headache to them. You can try sfc /scannow command and see if that solves the issue.
