Default asus(A7V400-MX)-very slow booting

Hello freinds
I bought a new amd 2200+ sempron processor along with a asua A7V400-MX motherboard.The problem is that the systeam would boot very fastly under windows 98se.But it would take a lot of time to boot windows xp,approx. 3 minutes.I checked all othe components in my computer.Every thing is perfect.Can you please get me a solution to the above mentioned problem.

open device manager...then go to ide settings.Under that u will find primary nd secondery ide channel settings.Look for the advanced tab nd then disable any not used/empty ide(master/slave) channel that is set to auto nd set it to none.Restart nd everything shdb be fine
