UDK running slow

I have the following system:
Intel Core 2 duo E6700
Asus Commando motherboard
4GB DDR2 Ram
250 & 500Gb HDD
400W Zebronics PSU
nVidia 8400GS graphics card
Win 7 x64
My problem is I have UDK July 2011 Version installed. It installed properly and works but is very very slow not only UDK but also my entire system becomes slow once I start UDK. What could be the reason? Is it because of my graphics card which is very basic one?

Are you sure there aren't any resource intensive task(s) running in the background?

Check for resource consuming prosesses
ALso check for Virus by doing a scan with updated Antivirus

do a cleanup with this too-

I use ccleaner frequently and also scanned the whole system.... there aren't any other tasks running except maybe for chrome at times other than chrome nothing else...

Lol... no other task than Chrome!
Buddy, you may not know this, but Chrome can be very (and I mean, Very), heavy on resources sometimes. Specially when you let open many tabs, and extensions.

Do check, how much memory and virtual memory is Chrome taking in Task Manager.

I know chrome consumes lot of memory... but even when chrome is not running udk is very slow, just navigating itself is slow...

Do one thing. Post a full screen snapshot of your Taskmanager so I can analyze
