windows media player not working correctly

whenever i play the videos from my mobile phone(lg kp 500, format 3gp,res. 240x320) on windows media player then it plays video only but dont play the audio playback and sometimes goes to the condition of not responding........
What could be the problem.......??

Well, WMP although has been improved greatly but still lacks some format support like a player like VLC.

Even VLC fails most of the time...

use potplayer or WMP or KMP

OK I know that VLC has failed you very recently, but to be true VLC hasnt failed me very seriously.
yes with k-lite codec pack, WMP is awesome but still I prefer VLC

Yet to install a codec pack in my life, yet to face a problem with playing videos.

BTW, I use only VLC and MPC HomeCinema.

For most people VLC works --
But when it comes to HD conent, VLC has not reached the top Yet --
Sometimes it even fails to open the file ( as in Zangetsu's one )
VLC's inbuilt codes are not enough ..
And Quality Wise I mock VLC

I have installed potplayer now...& its excellent player
coz a video file in mkv format was going out of audio sync in MPC but
potplayer ran it smoothly

so I use in this order

MPC --> if fails then --> PotPlayer

though video quality i found in both players same
