Best Screen Recorder (Paid or free)

Already tried :

1) Fraps
Problem : Large file size


2) Camstudio
Problem : Recorded video does not run smoothly (On default settings)

Fraps makes large size as it records at high res. Actually most screen recorder will make high size after recording at high res.

Just convert recorded vid to lower resolution using a video converter to reduce size
Fraps records to .avi so convert the vids to mp4 to optimise size further

use Virtual Dub to convert the avi files & choose encoder as Xvid much better than x264

Convert vids to MP4 format.
Do you want to upload to Youtube? Then convert to 320x240 to keep the file size in check.
