Post outlook restoring help


due to virus infection i have formatted my system.
before formatting i took back up of old mails in Outlook.

after formatting i configured outlook2007 by old .pst backup .

but when it is connected online old mails once again started once again.

i have maid old .pst as the default. still im getting duplicate mail.

Just create another PST, and show it the path of your back up.

@OP: Your query is a little vague, but still I would try to explain.

You may have taken a backup.. but I think, u did by copying the mails, and not moving.
So what is happening now is that, mails for both (backup PST and Server) is merging, resulting in duplicate mails.
Best thing would be to first to remove old pst. Then delete old mails (mails which you have already backed up) from Inbox.. and then reattach backup PST.

But, I also think, if the mails are duplicating, that means, server already have all the mails, and so, there is no need to attach the backup PST in the first place, since every mail will eventually download itself!

my server contains all the mails which is in the backup.
it is about 3243mail( 4 GB)

when configured with existing backup same mails starts downloading once again.

i want to get downloaded only latest mails in which my existing backup not contain.
please help

Read my first solution once again.
And if that doesn't solve the problem, let me ask you one thing more...

Assuming, you have taken backup on 13 June, so what you are saying that, there are no mails downloading which are dated after 13 June??
