Win xp restarts when i try to shutdown

hi, everyone
i guess it's a common problem. i'm using windows XP SP2. whenever i try to turn off my system restarts auotomatically. it's really annoying pls suggest some solution

attempt the registry stuff only if u r comfy with it. else just try using tune-up utilities. perhaps it'l help u. i had the same problem once...it just went away....

I had the same problem in Windows 98. Install an Autopatcher n see if it helps u (hope it will).
