Angry Too many SVCHOST.EXE running in process list...


atleast 10 in my case,
And they're consuming quiet a lot of memory and thus slowing down PC performance, what are these files and why r they taking up so much memory..?
Plz help...

Well, it's normal. This is same in my case.

BTW svchost can be virus too, run a scan in the meantime.

It's normal. BTW, svchost.exe is not a virus, various viruses create similar looking files, like SVCCHOST.exe, scvhost.exe etc.

It is a windows file and not a virus. But it can be virus infected. Update your antivirus (I am sure you will be using it). And do full system scan (at least your Windows Installation Drive) in safe mode.

Just run a deep level virus scan. Post that, how ever many you have = Normal.

Well it normal just see that none of them is ran by the username of the computer. If that is the case then you are infected with some nasty virus.
