Pressing Left ctrl button redirects to home page

I have this problem on Windows 7, not using any other OS as yet on my computer.

Whenever I press left ctrl, any tab redirects to the home page of the browser (in firefox and opera). If I press left ctrl while all browsers are closed then my default browser (firefox) opens automatically and redirects to the home page.

The same does not happen to right ctrl or any other button.

Any idea what may be wrong?

i wonder anything to do with custom keyboard driver software config like intelliType Pro 8.0 for MS keyboard

Haven't installed any custom driver software.

Might me a virus or malware problem because I had similar problem but not with Ctrl button. I reinstalled the whole damn OS.

Hmmm... That is unlikely. I'll try installing ubuntu and check.

Yeah thats best idea. If the problem is not in Ubuntu then Windows have some problem. Most probably its windows problem. I mean in windows OS and the problem won't be there in Ubuntu.

strange...seems like a macro shortcut...

I guess some background process is doing this...

Not getting time to try ubuntu Will update. I don't think this is a virus related problem.
