Default Video files with audio trouble


I have a few .avi files where the audio is not properly synchro'ed with the video. cud i do something to rectify this?

the best way is that u capture the audio and make a auio file... then use any goos sound editing software to synchronise the sound and then add the audio fle back to the avi file by any video editing software --like edobe priemere

Temporary Solution
Use VLC : www.videolan.org
you can increase/decrease audio delay in it.
I think the hotkeys for this in it are shift+a/shift+z
you can check the hotkeys in it's preferences
or
Use MPlayer:: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/dload.html
it's a linux based player .. also has a windows version
it too can adjust the audio delay
the default hotkeys are +/- ( i guess )

Permanent Solution
reencode the whole file with Virtual Dub
http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/
you can get the information about it in this forum itself .. search this forum .. there's quite a good info here
