Default CMOS and Ubuntu error

I have recently installed Win XP and Win 7 in my PC. After the installation, I installed Ubuntu 10.10 in XP. Now Ubuntu is showing in my boot order along with XP and Win7.

When I tried to log on to Ubuntu, it says that it is not properly installed and asks me to reboot with the Ubuntu CD for selection of language. But when I reboot, the error remains there. My PC does'nt go to the language selection option of Ubutu.

(I am installing Ubutu in XP as I was not able to understand the way it is installed stand-alone)

Second error I am getting is CMOS error at the boot time, which asks me to select the boot file (saved in CMOS F-11) or default loaded.

Pls tell how to correct the above.

seems like the ubuntu installation is corrupt. try reinstalling ubuntu from windows.
btw standalone installation is better, easy and less prone to error and TDF members will be glad to help you if face any problem during standalone installation.

for the CMOS prob, whats ur motherboard?
