How to uninstall windows messenger 4.7 from windows XP SP3

I have a windows Xp Sp3 based system at my work place. Due to some odd reason the Windows messenger 4.7 which was already included with windows shows up everytime when the system boot. As i don't use it i want to remove it from the system.
I tried to disable it from startup program entries but somehow it shows up every time i restart the machine.
Is there anyway i can justremove it completely

Goto Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs->Add/Remove Windows Components(vertical bar)->In the window that pops up uncheck windows messenger and click next to complete the uninstallation.

Run the following from the RUN dialog box:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
