System tray freezes

Whenever I go to "Network Places" from Start menu, the system tray along with task bar freezes but everything on desktop works well, can have access to any application on desktop and even have an access to display properties.This taskbar and system tray keep on freezing until I change my theme through "Display Properties".

I am using WIndows XP 2010 service Pack 2. Anyone have an idea then please help me with this annoying problem.

You mean Windows XP professional Edition SP2. Update your XP to Service Pack 3. It could be a virus attack also.

I have scanned my computer using KAV 2011 Internet Security. So it's obvious that it's not virus attack. Anyhow I am going to update to Service Pack 3. I hope its gonna help
