Default Windows XP Error message


I have a problem.Whenever i start my pc running Windows XP pro.I get the error dialogue"One of the files containing the system's Registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or alternate copy the recovery was successful" When i press ok it go goes away only to return the next time i start my pc.i have sp2 installed with latest drivers.I have an AMD 3000+,a 6200 agp card,512m ram,and a Asus K8S-MX mobo.I Get this error after installing Microsoft onenote.Please help.

something seriously is wrong with ur registry
id suggest "repairing" ur xp install

boot from cd and choose the repair option

alternatively before the above u can try booting and following steps to restore registry
then when in windows backup ur current registry by exporting it

restart and if u get the same msg ... when ur IN xp this time, Import the previously backed up registry
and restart and check if it worked ..
