Default Computer Hangs when clicking a file

My computer had Win XP and Ubuntu dual boot. Yesterday i removed Ubuntu, installed Windows 7. I have some movies on Ubuntu. So i copied to Win XP partition. I used to do this, never had problem with copying fields between XP and Ubuntu.

Now when i try to play movie, computer stop responding. It happens on Win XP and Win 7 (the video used to work properly in Ubuntu and Win XP before copying).

On Win 7, i start Windows Explorer, go to the folder having videos. Single click video, computer become slow/non responsive. Windows Explorer address bar shows in Green. Most of the time, i had to reboot the computer as it stay non responsive. Computer become slow when i try to delete the file through command prompt (cmd.exe).

Any suggestions how to fix this ?

chkdsk d: /f
will check for filesystem errors only, use
chkdsk d: /r
to locate bad sectors.

Thanks for the reply. I try running

Code:
chkdsk d: /r
This take for ever, display bad block error with the video name. Then it do nothing, i waited 4 hours... it do nothing. I tried this 2 times with same result, look like chkdsk not progressing after bad block or some thing.

Anyway i take backup of my HDD to a different computer on network. So i can restore if needed.

chkdsk slows my computer, so last time i run while i sleep. May be i will try it through GUI (as posted by jerrin_ss5) later.
