Question video not playing

Years back i had a vga camera and i've taken a lot of pics and videos using that..the videos(avi format) at that time played well in windows media player in XP... now i'm using vista and last day when i tried to see those old videos i couldnt see that in xp (i tried windows media player & vlc player). But when i copied the video to XP which i was running on VM Player, the videos played well...can i play those videos on vista

try using KM player. or install the Vista Codec Pack by Shark 007 (just Google for a sec) & give a try.

use KM player.

BTW, use a app called Mediainfo GUI - it will give you all the details about your vid files like codec, Bitrate, Aspect ratio etc.

I think there something wrong with the Video Bit rate : Is it 1.137 kbps or 1,137 kbps - regarding your video clip size they are both wrong - there's strong chance that the video clip is corrupted.

BTW, change the font color of your above post.

have you install that app correctly - try installing it in compatibility ( select XP ) mode one more time and try playing that video file.

If that's not working uninstall every codec app, run ccleaner ( remove reg and temp file ), download K-Lite Mega codec Pack - Select Advanced Install - Under Profile Selection Select Lots of Stuff - Now scroll down and make sure Indeo 4 and 5 is selected under VFW video codecs. Install K-Lite mega codec pack. AFter installation reboot and try playing your videos with Media Player Classic ( installed with K-Lite ).

in Xp VM he can play those videos so most of the chances are a video converting app will convert it correctly on XP VM and if he converts it into a popular video format with say divx or xvid codec the files can be played using any popular media player ( like KMPlayer, GOMPlayer, Mplayer, VLC, MPC HC etc. )
