Laptop shutsdown then comes back on on its own.

My friend got a HP G62 lap and has been facing a funny problem. Whenever the lap shutsdown, after about five seconds, it comes back on, on its own. However, when it is shutdown a second time, it shutsdown properly. If the lid is closed immediately after shutdown, it goes into sleep.

Please help.

you can try few things:
1) Reset BIOS to default.
2) Check for possible virus.
3) Fix OS, some OS files may have corrupted.

if nothing works... restore laptop to factory default.
