Unable to connect to BSNL internet using laptop getting Error 678

I'm unable to connect to internet (BSNL) using the laptop to . I get Error 678. I have Windows XP on the laptop.

When I try to connect using desktop and my own laptop I'm able to connect successfully. Have XP and Vista respectively on the mentioned systems. Have no issues whatsoever.

Only with my office laptop I have issues connecting. I think it's got to do with network settings on the laptop or maybe some kind of upgrade that is required.

Did anyone face similar issue? I did try the suggestions mentioned in the Microsoft site.

which operating system you are using on that laptop,

Windows XP

Check that internet properties Protocol(TCP/IP) is automatically configured or not and also tell me that another computer on same connection working or not.
