printing problem in windows 7

i had a dell laptop with windows 7 recently installed. i use my laptop for accounts purposes. i had wipro Ex 200+ dot matrix printer. firstly i am unable to attach it with my laptop as laptop do not have LPT port. secondly someone has suggested me to buy a usb to serail port for that, so i had purchased but still unable to print thru it. I am not able to understand how could i print my accounts files thru it. I had installed that converter cable but unable to know how could i install printer and how could i tell drivers that it should connect via that cable only (port settings). kindly suggest pls.
