Even i feel that Microsoft must have struck to "Longhorn".

"Vista" dosent sound as attractive as "Longhorn".

I am downloading the video, I ll get back here after watching it.

Windows Vista does not seem to be good name. Even Windows XP was bad, but frequent and continuous exposure makes anything sound normal in long run.

If U guys remembar, Windows XP was all about a new eXPperince U were supposed to have with this new Windows, but XP name died soon in case of Office XP, thats Y the new office version was named Office 2003 not Office XP 2

But soon after the launch it bace a common geeky term & everyone forgot the fuss, we even gave it a Nick name, "XP" for short, now the storylines goes as

Guy 1 : Yo, which windows U got installed

Guy 2 : XP SP2 (he doesn't says Windows XP SP2 in most case)

The guys from Activewin & Bink.ru have already given it a nick name, "WinVi", but this again creats confusion in different languages, how should this be pronounced

Win-V

Win-Va-e

Win-6 (VI is 6 in roman)

I call it Win-V, like Channel -V

oh! Vista is a car, a toilet paper compony, a compony which makes vinyal windows frames for home use

I too personally donn think Vista as puching as Lonhorn is. may be b'coz I heard and liked Longhorn first. But all I expect and what matters most is the Performance not the name.

rajas, is it possible to become an MSDN subscriber without doing any Microsoft Certifications ? What are the prices ?

Which certification have you done ?

Barbie, nice website. I think you can add the happenings such as bugs posted in the net regarding Vista Beta and more things can be added.

It is very much possible. U need to be certified to have MSDN. I have got MSDN- US Subscription. Not sure on Indian subscription.
Just pay the money and you are a subscriber. They register it onto your name. I'm not sure of the Indian Prices.

chk these: MSDN and TechNet

I have found this in other forum
VISTA could means:

V = Virus
I = Infections
S = Spyware
T = Trojans
A = Adware

So beware and don't go for new window.
