Default Video File not playing in any player? help pls


I am not able to play a video file (193MB ) having extension FLV1. I tried every player but no gain.

Have tried in VLC player...?

Sorry, had to ask as you have not mentioned in your post...Plus, see if your VLC is latest one.
Secondly, try downloading latest codecs from Free-Codecs.com and try opening file in Classic Media Player (although is second to VLC)

@OP, try this, not by book, but then again try anyway.

rename the file as <filename>.FLV (remove the 1 from the extension)

Then try playing it

^^ thats the trick, actually the file is a flv one but i think it was renamed as *.flv1 by mistake

you must have downloaded in parts n its name remains FLV1.
so remove 1 from the FLV1 and it will be OK.

if you dont know how to remove that 1 then follow this for XP.
open my computer =>>Tools Menu =>> Folder Option =>>
View =>> then find option " Hide Extensions for known file types " uncheck it n rename your file.

dont forget to check mark " Hide Extensions for known file types " this option again.

FLV1 - FLV1 codec (supported by ffdshow)

Try Format Factory - FREE

Format Factory - Free media file format converter

Will just about convert anything to anything!
