Directx woes

How can i install fresh directx 9. I uninstalled directx 10 as it giving me issues, using 'DirectX Eradicator' . I downloaded > directx_Jun2010_redist , however its only upgrades and does not do a fresh install of directx. It cannot upgrade as earlier files no longer exist. Help please.

i am able to reinstall directx 8.1 from i386 using the tool.. how ever i am not able to update it to 9 now. I run the directx 9.0c june2010 installer and it says that components have been installed successfully but when i run dxdiag it shows me dx 8.1 installed. please help.

Heh... you've been caught in the trap! DX is highly tricky and most times, impossible to completely reinstall.

I suggest a reinstall of OS. Thats what I did once, when everything else failed.
