Default office 2010 setup not working


hi guys i mounted the image file and clicked on the setup.

1. at first (antivirus was enabled) the computer just restarted itself.
nothing else happened.

2. i disabled the antivirus and then clicked on setup. it says
" office could not find osetup.dll. file may be damaged or missing".

i have win xp sp3 (32 bit), office 2007.

plz help.

Did the installation worked on other machine. Try it on some other PC's(May be some of you friend's)...if it refuses to work even there....the image is corrupted or fake(if you've downloaded from *ahem* version check the comments there)

May be you opened the wrong setup file.Try the autorun feature

I'll say corrupt disk. Redownload and try again.

Thats it the downloaded image is corrupt. I installed it on my win XP sp3 machine

Topic says office 2010, but your post says office 2007?

If the place you downloaded the image from provides hashes (MD5,SHA1,SHA256, etc.), you can verify whether the downloaded file has the same hash. I use HashTab for verifying hashes.

Maybe he means he has Office 2007 now, and is trying to install Office 2010

@OP

You should first uninstall 2007 before installing 2010, just to clean it up a little
