Right Off the Assembly Line

Default DVD drive not accessible


friends although my DVD drive is working normally but when i insert a DVD from my handicam which contains my videos it wont open ,on double clicking it it says "driven is inaccessible".same is the case when i click on open pr explore after rightclicking the drive icon. help me please

Well,there could be a few problems there...

Your CD/DVD might be damaged


Try using the disk in different PC to see if problem persists or use a CD cleaning CD

@linkin park,
Go to Start Menu > Run and type regedit and press Enter key. This will open Registry Editor. Here, navigate to following key (by clicking the "+" symbols):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Right click on {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} entry, click "Export" and give a filename to export the data to a file. File will be saved as filename.reg. Now, open that file in Notepad (right-click and choose "Open With") and copy paste its contents here.
