Limit youtube additional buffering

while playing vids on youtube most times the video has buffered before i've even reached the halfway mark.any way to limit this, to say 10secs more than where i'm at?

hehe seriously, why would anyone want to do that. I mean even if you want to watch only half the video, what's the harm in buffering full video?
