Question windows updates backup

Hi all,
can anybody suggest me a software (freeware) which can take a backup of all the updates I have installed till now so that there is no need of again downloading the updates, incase I have to format my system. I am in need of a software which works for XP and 7.

Thanks.

for XP you need not worry as there are service packs available for download which contains most of the updates. for Win7 i do not think the updates (only important ones) are too many...no SP till now for win7 though...

what you are looking for is norton ghost.you install the OS and all the important softwares along with updates.Using norton ghost create an image of the installation.whenever you want to format the system, just take backup of personal data and boot system using a USB/CD with norton ghost support. you can just copy this image back there...

+1 to that..Norton Ghost is the way to go.

Well if you want a freeware, take "Windows Updates Downloader" and download your updates separately, they will be .msi installer files. Double click and install updates.
BTW ..No need to worry about updates, Service packs are available time to time.
