Default How to clear drop down list - 'Type a question for help' box - Office 2003

In Office 2003 programs like Outlook or Word , there’s one text box available at top right to ‘type a question for help’.
As you enter your search query for getting help, it keeps the previous search string in the drop down list there in it.
Is there any way to clear this drop down list?
