Default Firefox problem

Hi,

I have IE8 and FF3.6 running on a HP laptop with Vista(SP1).
I need to access an ip in the range 172.16.*.*: port/page.php

I can access it in IE8 without any problems.
But, I am not able to access it in FF3.6

Can anyone help me with a solution ?

Regards
Ramprasad

@khmadhu : I just get a "Page canot be displayed" sort of error.
@ajayashish: I have a firewall, but this range of ip is configured as safe ip range.

Thanks for both ur replies....

and also if u r LAN is using any proxy, then u need to put 172.16.*.* in "no proxy" in Firefox.
edit->preferences->advanced->network->settings->no proxy.

u r not able to browse only local sites..? or all sites..?

Have you checked the compatibility issue ? as my router home page of 172.1.*.* doesn't open correctly in ff though it works well in ie8.
There are still some default manufacture sites that doesn't open in ff correctly. I raised a ticket for this @mozilla !!

what is that u r trying to access..? is it a website? or any ftp/file server..? or some virtual server..?
when u hit enter with ip in the URL, Firefox will not show looking up.., that's only when u enter a domain name.

may be some plug-ins may be missing.. which is in IE but not in FF.
