Default Good software for developing a web site?

Hi ppl
i want to develop a web-site on my own. Problem is i know squat about programming or any java language. Are there any softwares that can help me develop a web-site with being a dummy at it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Default hi

well, you dont need to know javascript to make a site.
you can find a site template and then change it to suit your needs.
to do this you will need frontpage or dreamweaver.
from waht i have read all over the net. dreamweaver is the best. but i havent tried it. but will soon,
but i think for starters, frontpage is ok.
you can also use the templates available in frontpage to make pages or sites.
you will find tuts for frontpage on the net. you can also experiment a bit. dont forget to install frontpage extensions if you have hosting.
here are some good templates

The best software available to you in my opinion is Web Page Maker. It's really easy to use and comes with different attractive templates. It has also got some cool built-in java scripts, effects etc.....

well i wud suggest u to download a tutorial on HTML n i bet u will b able to learn it in 15days.. it is very easy language.. n it is best when u built ur website on notepad.. learning HTML does not require any pre knowledge of any other language.. it will b helpful when u want to make the website look as u imagine otherwise u will have to remain happy with existing templates.. n u know the feeling of great satisfaction when u will say that u built ur site on ur own.. on a notepad.. i have built my site by working on notepad.. checkout www.coolshirazonline.tk

I too agree with whoopy_whale, Web Page Maker is a good software for making webpages. But just that wouldnt give you a professional look to your website. Dreamwaeaver is good for multimedia authoring and web development.
U might want to try this site for some free scripts(you need to use 'em with some usage policy). DHTML Central http://www.dhtmlcentral.com/
