problem with windows xp

i am having a problem with windows xp
whenever i shut down the system it hangs up at "windows is shutting down" screen but sometimes it shuts down properly also
plz help

Hi,

I have compaq laptop with pentium 4 xp.and sometimes got strart up Message-

<The procedure entry point DrawshadowText could not be located in the dynamic link library COMCTL32.dll>

What is This!I think its interfering my net connection which opens sometimes.

Is there anybody there to Help! ME!

Be sure you have no virus or worms...do scans by an updated security suite or use online scannner( Google -Trendmicro Housecall) and remove all registry entries pf that file or proces...delete the file by using Unlocker...



or just formate ur PC
