Internet not working in windows 7.please help.

I am using windows 7 ultimate.my internet connection was not working this morning though it was working well last night.i got this error message when i try to troubleshoot the issue ''The connection between your access point,router or cable modem and the internet is broken''.i tried resetting my router, disabling/enabling the local area connection but nothing works.what steps should i take to resolve this issue?

My System Specs- ASUS P5KC m/b, intel q9300 22.5Ghz, Belkin G Wireless Router Model No- F5D7234-4 v1....my isp is reliance & i have an 1 mbps connection.

Have you attempted to plug your modem directly into your computer to ensure that there is nothing wrong with your router or modem?
Also, Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assistance and feedback.
