Red face Windows XP Does Not Detect Network, Windows 7 Does

I have been using BSNL Broadband for last 2 years without any problem on my Windows XP PC.
Today I decided to install Windows 7.
But after installing Windows 7, I cant use Network on Windows XP, it says "No Network Connection" and Ethernet LED does not turn up. But as soon as I start Windows 7 I can use Network i.e. my Internet and Ethernet LED turns on.
Whats the problem?? Any way to fix it please??

Yes... Windows XP was installed before I installed Windows 7 on separate partition. I could use LAN with out any problem on XP but after I installed 7, I can use LAN only on 7 and not on XP!!
