what i want is to access my modems from system B!!!

i am able connect to internet through modem and wifi at the same time but only if i configure my modem when its connected to system A!!! this configuration (which allows multiple system connection to internet at same time) isn't working for system B.... when i connect my system B to modem, i am not able to use wifi for my mobile at the same time!! only browsing through system B works.

it comes to this....

how do i login into the modem from system B!

ps:sory for the confusion!!

Type this in the command prompt of both System A and System B:
ipconfig /all > c:\ipconfig.txt

And post the outputs of both.

There you see the difference.

Configure the LAN of your System B manually as follows:

LAN IP/IPv4 address: 192.168.1.3
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Primary DNS: 4.2.2.2
Secondary DNS: 4.2.2.1

Here's how it's done in Windows 7. I've got no idea about Vista. (I've only used it for less than 30minutes in my life ) It should be similar though:

i never understood why the computer was not made like an idiot box!! its just too complex...,

may be coz a geeks brain comes up with a new idea every second and ultimately its like we order an omelette , we end up getting a chicken and a manual to how to get it to lay an egg-then wash/break it-then.. blah blah blah blah blah .....-and finally....enjoy the delicious meal!!

to a geek ->>
to everybody else ->>

well atleast life is made easier n fun to live..afterall its the geek who discovered the delicious omelette

ps: all vegans and peta members.... no chicken/egg was harmed in making of this post , and everything is purely fictional. PEACE

pps: i am a part geek

There is a thing named DHCP for LAN. It is most probably disabled in your router. What this thing does is that it automatically gives a LAN IP to your computer witout any manual configuration. As it is disabled, you have to configure your LAN manually.

I think the LAN was actually configured manually in the System A, but not in the System B.

That manual configuration has actually assigned you a static Local Area Netowrk IP to your computer. Your WAN IP or the Internet IP is still dynamic. So, no Rapidshare issues.

ip in system A is set to obtain automatic only. didn't change anything from default!!

anyways problem solved. so it doesn't matter much.
