Try Ashampoo Burning Studio 6.......

Easy to use and will burn ur discs at speed of 16x

Its not an open source software.......But it's free of cost......

Don't know if VSO is open source but you should give VSO ConvertX To Dvd a try. Very simple and easy to use.

Hi ppl thanks a ton but I have Files with formats like MP4,avi etc and not video files (.BUP,.VOB etc)and i want a software that directly converts them into a video DVD that is read by normal (Home DVD players).I Ve tried Nero lite the free version .Please Help

Have you tried VSO Convert X To Dvd? It does just that. Convert it and leave a blank dvd inside your optical drive. It will automatically burn the compilation once it's done converting. Though i have to tell you that it's a bit slow when it comes to conversion but then again it all depends on your configuration.
