So, 11.8k plus taxes for W7 Ultimate. Good job ripping us off M$!

I remember MS saying that they will put win7 price atleast 15% lower than vista's price. now, vista home premium price is 6k for retail version that that of win7 is 7k+tax. That's ridiculous.

This is bull$h1t. These prices are just too much as usual. If M$ sells W7 Ultimate @ 5k and the others at 1k and 2k or so, then it would sell like hot cakes. No wonder Windows Vista retail copies were always in stock for the last 2 years.

I will purchase this one but thanks to the idiotic MS pricing, I need to save some cash to purchase this as I was expecting it to be more like a sub 5k product (7 home premium). and i don't want to purchase OEM.

Question Re: Microsoft Window 7 (Home+Professional+Ultimate) Prices in India

I was planning to buy Win7, but I think now I have to "get" it...

b/w, guys let me tell you my usage, plz recommend me the proper version that I should look for if I buy,

-->Movie watching
-->Gaming (would d games released till now run in Win7?)
-->D/L(well, it does not depend on os I guess)
-->Video editing, Encoding ( once in a blue moon, but I would need them for sure)

It seems, Home Premium is good for me, what do u guys say? Do I need Professional?

And, what is that "Advanced File Management" thing mentioned here?

rates too high, i think home edition should be around Rs 500/- , in that case i can dual boot my pc with genuine windows 7 + ubuntu.
or now ubuntu is better than using pirated windows

The Price of W7 Pro is too high.. I was expecting it to be sub 9K. I think MS is trying to push people going for Pro to Ultimate. With only bitlock encryption only useful added advantage over Pro.!!

I'm worried. The whole world will buy them. Maybe M$ will run short of DVD's to burn upgrade discs on. Maybe then they will give them on pendrives. Then even the pendrives will be out of stock... Damn, then what? Maybe we will get the W7 for free for making M$ the monopoly. Free download W7 full retail edition from M$ website.

Oh NO!!!! Damn, then people will walk from all over the world to grab their own copy... Then they will have only one other option. The entire source code will be up for free copy paste and every one can make their own Windows "Distro".

^^good good. so, you found the link. but do remember that this is a hack and there is a good chance that the serial can be blocked by MS for illegal use. as a result, you will end up losing 5k bucks instead of saving 1000 bucks.

The trick is to change one field from 0 to 1 !!!,

there are many cases where one may have to use this method, like a completely crashed HDD. whether this method is legal or not is beyond scope of this thread. shall we discuss this in the tutorial thread?

Wow, everyone here talking about buying a win 7 pro and ultimate.
Look like a golgappa... Bazar me tahalne nikle, man hua to kha liya.
Are bhai logon 15000/- koi choti moti money nahi hai...
Koi kahta hai i am using genuine...
Wah wah kya kahne... crack karke genuine bana liya aur kate hain ki my windows is genuine...
I have remember many people here who were asking for free gprs tricks.."no money in the pocket, but we recommed genuine windows".
i know some peoples are honest here and everywhere but not all.
All the best.
