how to install windows in sony vaio??????

guys...i m screwed..i unknowingly formatted my system drive and other drives too....n i have no where to go.. :-s ...i thought i cud be as easy to install windows in a laptop as it is in a standard pc...but i was wrong... can anyone help me as how to install windows in sony vaio.? as i try pressing delete and all...with windows cd in it...the system restore windows open up but there is no restore point available...what to do now??

which version of windows is it and why not just do a clean install?

it was windows vista first and i wanto install xp now.... n its not same as in std pc...m not able to get the bios out...form where i can change the boot configuration to cd rom..when i start the lappy..it just starts loading some files...n then system restore window opens up..
