Windows XP disc works well on one pc but not on another

I tried to install Windows on my friends pc using his XP SP3 disc. After it asks for press any key to boot from disc, setup hardly runs for 10-15seconds and it gives either of two errors.
First one is something similar to error at line 1723. Press any key to continue.
Second one is failed to load some.exe file. (I dont remember the exact name of that file)
I thought disc is faulty but when I checked it on my pc, it works well !!! How come??

To overcome this problem, I removed the HDD from my friends pc and installed it in my pc, installed windows but when I reconnected it in my friends pc, it shows 2 OS there, both being Windows XP. No matter which one you select, it gives me error. What happened here??

How could I make windows work on my friend's pc? Plz help, I am getting frustrated now !!

There's problem in your friends optical drive like his lens is not enough clean to read some part of the disk.
^^This might be the reason. Use your optical drive on your friends PC
