OpenDNS blocks access Avast site

Hi there,

I know many of us use Avast Home Anti virus. I just tried to update it, but Avast displayed an error saying incomplete or damaged package. I tried to access the site but OpenDNS blocked me saying something along the line that the avast site was some business spam.

I changed the DNS to the earlier one I was using (given by BSNL) and I am now able to access or update Avast.

If at all any one is having trouble updating or accessing Avast site try changing the DNS. (I used 61.1.96.69 / 61.1.96.70)

P.S: I did some search and something weird turned up. Avast, it seems, identifies OpenDNS Update as malware ! More here. Coincidence??

No problem here...why dont you reset your IP setting and then apply OpenDNS?

Didn't try resetting OpenDNS ips, but resetting to the above ones did work fine with both the browser and the Avast software.

P.S: I reset my DNS to OpenDNS ips and working fine.
