VLC Portable too slow

I don't know if it's an issue with the software, but VLC portable takes a long time in starting. Is there any thing which can make it start faster?

I also suffered the same problem ..
VLC portable from portable apps ..
Then i just installed the VLC from the main setup file itself ... BTW VLC by default is a portable i think so u can install the main setup file itself but dunno about the codecs though

Same here.. I am using VLC from ver 0.8 and now 1.0.1, since 0.8 startup time is increasing with new version releasing..
