xp installation using pen drive ??

my system has crashed and i want to reinstall the xp os using my pen drive is it possible ..... i have the xp file in .gbi format so can u guys help me...... i mean how to do it and what will be required and all ... thanks in advance

XP cannot be installed through pen drive, since in XP the USB booting is blocked.

But not in Linux.

Not true.
The best and the easiest option it to use WinSetupfromUSB. All you need to do is to specify the xp installation folder and the location of pendrive. The software takes care of the rest. You dont need to go through the elaborate procedure mentioned by Black Core.
In fact you can install pretty much any OS from pen drive.

actually my doubts is if the xp image file i have will work or not its a format call .gbi which i have never came across

ya i know but this time i want to do it through pen drive and keep it for permanent.
