Well I have seen you've FSecure installed but I don't know if it's updated or not. Better do one thing, install Comodo Internet Security. Go to Defense+ >> Advanced and click on Computer Security Policy. Check for the suspicious files(if you find any) and block them. Click Start >> Run and type msconfig and press Enter. Go to the Startup tab and untick the unnecessary programs. Go to the Services tab, click on :Hide All Microsoft Services" and there too untick the unnecessary ones. Update Comodo and scan with it's integrated antivirus.... You may also use Malwarebytes' Antimalware and Trojan Remover to scan.....

Hi Disc Junkie,
Thank you for your quick response. I followed the instructions you suggested and the computer started working fine, then i updated my antivirus software and the system has become very unstable. When I boot the system it goes to a blue screen indicating a physical memory dump. I rebooted in safe mode and uninstalled the antivirus software and it's still unstable. Any suggestions on how to proceed from here. thanks |

Check this, http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.c...id=1647&page=4
Follow the instructions and if it doesn't work then I think you will have to repair your XP installation...
