The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.Please contact your system administrator.

This the message shown when i try to open My E: drive.

PLZ help it is half of my hard disk...

permission to access the drive is disabled nothing much can be done

For Windows Vista, right click on 'E:' and click on properties. Next, click the security tab. Click on the Advanced button, then the edit button. Click on the edit button that appears in this new window and edit all the permissions to your heart's content. Next, click apply. Done. XP should be similar to this too.

right click on drive

click on run as

then type admin name and password

and here u go the drive is open

^ What OS are you talking about ? It's not possible to open Drive like that...

no need boys n gals...i found another way...I backed up the data using windows backup wizard n then formatted the drive in safe mode...TaDa work done...then i restored the data...it was probably a virus

everything is fine now

In the CPU, the motherboard has to be enabled with USB port and check with control panel or with the device manager.
